What happened to all of the no-kill cat shelters in cleve.,Ohio?

The ALP won’t come and pick up strays . I don’t drive, and cat foods for 6 stray is getting expensive.I keep calling and feeding, and every season more kittens that are attacked by more large stray dogs…where’s the help the humane society is suppose to provide? I’ve kept them as healthy as I can , without having them inside my home. Where is the help, they take in dogs all the time, are cats less important? Don’t give me that crap…cats kill the wild birds, I watched a german shepard take down a blue jay and then a cardinal last week.

Am I hurting the birds by Feeding Wild Birds?

Hi, I put up a new bird feeder that attaches to my window. It has 3 trays in it. I have sunflower seeds in one tray, nutty suet in one, and cardinal/songbird mix in the third. I also have another larger regular feeder in the yard that has been there for a long time. The wild birds visiting my new window feeder seem to be fighting over it. Three can sit on it, but then another one will fly up and flap at them until it can get in there. Is this normal behavior and okay? Or should I can this additional feeder down? I should say that we’ve had a sudden back cold snap with over a foot of snow. I

I am new to bird feeding/watching hobby and would love to know of good website with forums where I can get more information.

Get a wild bird to lay eggs in my birdhouse?

Posted by Filed Under Cardinal Bird House with 3 Comments

I made a wooden birdhouse for the enjoyment of watching baby birds grow. I want to know HOW to get wild birds like cardinals and house finches to lay eggs in the bird house. Are they not laying in it because it has human scent on it? I put one of them in a tangled bush where dozens of house finches always stay, I put the other in an easy to get to spot deep in a big pine tree in my backyard. Any suggestions on where to put if that would help with the egg laying?
