I live in the palm desert, CA (u kno, palm springs, really hot etc.) a couple of days ago i bought a seed feeder and a hummingbird feeder, and hung the hummingbird feeder under a shady bush near a flowering plant they seem to like and near our pool (with safe drinking water for them and waterfall).
I put the seed feeder hanging on our palm tree near a man made pond they like. The seed mix has those good sunflower seeds and some crushed corn in it.
And of course, the hummingbird feeder has nectar in it and has red feeder flowers.
Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Hi, so I am 15 and I love bird feeding, I personally think it is really cool. I am soon getting ready to put out my oriole feeder again. I’ve never had an oriole at it yet, probably because of the 10′s of dead drowned bees that climb in. I have the perky pet oriole feeder, and as you know it is like a hummingbird feeder except the holes are bigger because obviously the orioles are bigger than the hummingbirds and need a bigger hole to put their beaks in. This also allows the bees to get into the feeder itself and drown in the nectar. How can I keep bees away from the feeder, what could put out or put near the feeder to keep them away? Thanks…

Why don't the hummingbirds feed on the feeder?

I bought a hummingbird feeder about a while ago, I filled it up with some nectar I bought at a store called " Perky pet, instant nectar concentrate".

I put it up in a tree, and there’s a hummingbird that comes everyday, but he does not feed. He just lands on the tree branches, hovers around, then sit on another branch. He never fed, what’s going on? He comes everyday and sits for a long time but never feeds, what should I do? Is the nectar maybe not good? Is the feeder not good? Help
